It's always good to be open to possibilities as they present themselves to you because sometimes something unexpected happens and you have the chance to have some fun and be happy in relation to doing something you hadn't planned to do before. It's good to have a big picture about what you want but then you also need to concentrate on small things, small chunks of things, that you can do each day to help you achieve that. For example: 'I'm going to read two pages of a really funny novel each day so that I will laugh out loud'.
Some people are really good at planning things in advance whereas other people are very much in the going with the flow. There are good things about both these approaches. Each sort of person should be able to learn from the other.
How to be happy or experience more happiness is very personal. Some people are happy lying on a beach whereas others might be happy at the end of running a marathon.
Happiness may not be related to wealth or success. Happiness may depend on how you respond to things in relation to how in tune you are with yourself, how you interpret your own experiences, how autonomous you feel, what you notice on a daily basis and how you structure your memories. It may be related to how you feel about people around you, whether you ensure that there are enough things in your life that give you meaning and pleasure and this is all to do with awareness and choice so if there are things that bother you, decide there is something you can do about it.
When you keep talking about and repeating all the negative stuff you will feel less energized, and less happy. If you come become more in tune with yourself so that you begin to learn about yourself and your life, you begin to feel more at peace and happier.
