What indications did you have that you were happy? What was going on around you? ? What was going on inside you? How did you feel about yourself? Did the experience connect you more or less strongly with other people? Start to look at what is positive, what's enjoyable, that you can do. Notice what people who are contented or optimistic are doing. Notice the way they concentrate on positive things, at the end of the day. Be aware of all the good and positive things happen to you each day.

Have a day when you smile at people and receive smiles back from them. Notice how much better you feel when you are satisfied with life.

Similarly thinking, just for a moment about negative experiences. How specifically did you know you were unhappy?

What made you unhappy? Did you know immediately? What was going on around you what was going on inside you? Louise Hay says that you create your own experiences when you say that you believe something that often is the way that you experience that thing. Are you happy with your life, the way it is right now? It's a personal question that only you can answer for yourself. You know best, the things that interest you, the talents you long to develop and the answers you're seeking to find. So why not pause for a moment and give careful consideration to that question.

Does your happiness depend upon the things you possess such as your home, your car, or your career? "What if" you lost all those things? "What if" a disaster strikes, what would you value most? But, even that is not all there is to becoming truly happy? God's Word sums it up this way: "Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need." We must be constantly aware that we have such a need and make a conscious effort to fill it. So, by filling that need, it can truly make us happy.

Numero uno - SMILE. We know that smiling is free and has no expenses attached. So why don't more people take advantage of this freebie? Got me? Two- Yawn. Yawning is also a natural and free resource. Yawning causes us to feel more relaxed, to be calmer and more alert. In the brain, yawning releases special neurochemicals that make use more aware and self-sensitive.

Three - Breathe. There are two strategies to maximize your breathing. The first is to breathe with your stomach (diaphragmatic breathing) and the heart-math breath. In stomach breathing, you make the stomach do the work and just relax. In the heart-math breath, you imagine the breath coming through your heart as you breathe in and out to a count of five or six.
